Annual Block Party
On September 11th, from 5 to 9 pm, the Pearl District Neighborhood Association (PDNA) hosts the Pearl Party, its annual street party and fundraiser, which takes place every year on the second Friday of September, closing off one block of historic NW 13th at NW Hoyt. There will be a live band and local restaurants to create a special Pearl District experience. To fund its activities each year, PDNA relies almost entirely on contributions from individuals, condos/apartments, businesses and community organizations in the Pearl. This year’s fundraising goal for PDNA is $25,000 — all to support projects that enhance the livability of the Pearl District. In past years, the Pearl Party has hosted a cash bar, a raffle for a variety of prize packages and the classic sounds of Folsom, a Johnny Cash tribute band. Everyone is welcome and admission is free, so join us this year for a fantastic evening of friends, food, wine and music!
PDNA is celebrating National Night Out (August 4th) with a live concert in The Fields park. National Night Out is a crime prevention effort to raise awareness and build partnerships.
The annual Pearl Party is September 11th and September is National Emergency Preparedness Month. PDNA’s emergency preparedness committee will feature tips for disaster preparedness.
PDNA will elect new board members at its annual meeting on October 8th at Irving Street Kitchen. Polish the Pearl, the bi-annual neighborhood clean-up, will also be in October (date TBD).
