2013 Contemporary Northwest Art Awards

Open now through January 12, 2014

The Portland Art Museum is pleased to present the 2013 Contemporary Northwest Art Awards, celebrating the artists and creative community in the five-state greater Northwest region. This year’s six exceptional artists showcase the wide-ranging, disparate practices in the region: Anne Appleby (Montana), Karl Burkheimer (Oregon), Isaac Layman (Washington), Abbie Miller (Wyoming), Nicholas Nyland (Washington), and Trimpin (Washington). During the September 21 opening celebration, Museum Director Brian Ferriso announced Seattle-based artist Trimpin as the recipient of the prestigious $10,000 Arlene Schnitzer Prize. The prize winner was chosen by Ferriso and the Museum’s curators and selected from the six artists featured in the 2013 Contemporary Northwest Art Awards. Learn more about the artists here.
