The Visit

I was expecting a suspense-thriller, this movie was neither. I was disappointed by the failures of this movie, by writer/director/producer M. Night Shyamalan (The Sixth Sense, Signs, Unbreakable) and producer Jason Blum (Paranormal Activity, The Purge and Insidious series).  The audience laughed at the moments they should have been scared.  This movie was uncomfortably disturbing not scary.

Shyamalan returns to his roots with this not so terrifying story of a teenage brother and sister who are sent to their grandparents’ remote Pennsylvania farm for a weeklong trip. Once the children discover that the elderly couple is involved in something deeply disturbing, they see their chances of getting back home are growing smaller every day. The cast includes Kathryn Hahn, Deanna Dunagan, Peter McRobbie, Ed Oxenbould, Olivia DeJonge.
