There are no quick fixes. Self-improvement takes time and effort, but we often want results with minimal effort and maximum benefit. We could be looking for simplified weight loss, skin rejuvenation, overall health, even solutions to less common ailments such as muscle spasms. We’ve tried extreme solutions that might include drinking a cayenne pepper-maple syrup concoction, expensive creams from Asia, or rubbing an assortment of condiments on your face in search of results. When the fad fixes fail, we’ve consulted with Dr. Karly Bannister and Dr. Gonzzo Watson and compiled some suggestions of minimally invasive techniques that can improve your overall lifestyle, and potentially be the solution you seek.
The first place to start for overall health should be with basic supplements taken daily. Three are recommended: a good multivitamin, an antioxidant, and essential fatty acids. Taking these three supplements meets your body’s basic needs, and could mean eliminating the need for other specialty products.
Lose the Weight
At some point, most people experience unwanted fat gain. For some, it’s just a matter of exercising a little more, or paying more attention to the food you consume. For others, fat is becoming a real issue leading to obesity and the numerous health risks associated with it. Acupuncture is used to treat a variety of ailments, and with certain techniques, could assist in weight loss. By pairing acupuncture with a microcurrent therapy, patients can see an increase in their metabolism, reduced appetites, balanced blood sugar, reduced cravings and increased muscle tone. Many find they can lose one to two pounds a week, and they also experience more control over what they choose to eat. But as with any other treatment or method of weight loss, the acupuncture needs to be paired with an active lifestyle and healthy eating.
Stevia is classified by the Food and Drug Administration as a dietary supplement. It is typically used to replace sugar or artificial sweeteners. However, it may not be less harmful to the body than sugar or artificial sweeteners. Although available for purchase, there are currently many lawsuits against stevia sweeteners because the product is claimed to be natural, but the processes used to manufacture it include a chemical treatment. Right now, it is up for you to decide.
Reduce Fine Lines and Wrinkles
Facial rejuvenation acupuncture, also known as cosmetic acupuncture, uses superficial needling techniques and specialized facial needles to increase the production of elastin and collagen, thereby diminishing fine lines and wrinkles. FRA invigorates lymphatic circulation, softening the skin and evening out the complexion. This procedure can lead to a firmer jaw line, reduction of jowls, reduction of water retention, and reduced acne and rosacea.
Stop the Spasms
Muscles are the contractile tissues of the body. Several metabolic processes occur for contraction, and for relaxation. When a spasm occurs, relief is found in relaxation. While in a relaxation phase, muscles need calcium, magnesium and potassium. These minerals help the muscles relax normally. Typically, people are more deficient in calcium and magnesium than potassium, so to allow for relaxation and provide relief from spasms, a supplement containing calcium and magnesium should be taken daily. In addition to eating a banana every few days, these minerals are sufficient in supporting the muscle’s relaxation phase.
Adjust For Better Health
Spinal nerves are the channel for communication between the brain and the body. Vertebral misalignment, also known as subluxation, can cause the spinal nerves to malfunction. This malfunction is due to irritation caused from the misalignment. When spinal nerves are irritated, they can transmit information too quickly, too slowly, or not at all. A spinal adjustment realigns the misaligned vertebra, reducing and eliminating spinal nerve irritation. This alignment allows the body to function normally, restoring health.
